my dad is the 2nd of three brothers born in guangdong, china
one brother has since passed away
the youngest lives in san francisco, USA
his other relatives are in china
in alhambra, LA county, USA
and San Francisco, California, USA
growing up in bacolod city, philippines,
we never met any of papa's relatives
except
for his cousin's large family in iloilo
i always wondered about papa's family
when we had the opportunity to visit San Fo from April 16-20, 2008
we took the time to visit my grandfather's grave outside San Francisco, CA
there i saw a lot of tombstone bearing our
family name "LOUIE"
although we spell it differently in the Phils.
"LOWIE"
the chinese character is the same
and according to papa, these were people who came
from his town, guangdong, china
